The Committee to Protect Journalists

This is a New York-based organisation, non-profit and non-partisan, dedicated to the global defence of press freedom. It publishes regular reports on threats to journalists and freedom of the press.


The Freedom Forum

Based in Virginia, this group is a non-partisan international foundation dedicated to free speech, freedom of the press and free sprit. It publishes conference reports, speeches and videos on media issues and journalism education.


The National Press Club of Australia

The National Press Club, Washington

The Washington-based National Press Club has an excellent site. Many of the topics are American-centric, but Australian readers will find some of the published speeches by guest speakers interesting.


The Radio-Television News Directors Association

This American-based group is the world's largest professional association for the electronic media, with more than 3000 members in 30 countries. The site has excellent material on professional, educational and ethical issues. It also publishes research papers and has a bookstore and calendar of events and conferences.
