About Us - Melbourne Press Club

The Melbourne Press Club has been a key part of the city's media
community for more than 36 years.

It is a forum where journalists and those in related industries can hear
from the country's most senior politicians and business leaders, attend
conferences and award nights, and liaise on issues like professional
development and media freedom.

The club each year hosts one of Australia's most prestigious media
awards, the Quills, and co-hosts the annual Graham Perkin Australian
journalist of the year award.

Speakers at the club's monthly lunches have included Nelson Mandela,
prime ministers, authors, sports heroes, and top business executives.
The club also hosts trivia nights, media mums events, journalism
conferences, pub speaker lunches ... and many more social and
professional events.

Joining the press club is easy - it already has about 500 members. Many
are media professionals but also include people with a genuine interest
in media issues and the club's activities. Membership costs $66 a year
or $22 for students.
